S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia

John was appointed as 17th Warden of S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia, in 2009.

The college offers a full curriculum for 3000 boys aged 5-18, including UK IGCSEs and A Levels, as well as Sri Lankan national curriculum A Levels in Sinhala and Tamil.

The college was founded in 1851 by Bishop James Chapman, himself once an Assistant Master at Eton, and has a long tradition of excellence in academic and co-curricular activities.

The 'Royal-Thomian' cricket match is the oldest continuous cricket match in world history having been played annually between S. Thomas' College and Royal College since 1864.

John introduced a campus-wide IT system to the college with the support of Dialog Telecom and the OBA.
